LINEAR STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS

Linear Structural Analysis

A linear analysis of any structure is generally performed when structure is expected to show linear behavior. Major aerospace structure components like wing, vertical tail and horizontal tail show linear behavior.   Depending upon the nature of loading, deformation and strength of structure can be determined by using one of the analysis types available in finite element commercial software. If the applied loading is determined as part of the solution for structural strength and stability, static and bucking analysis are performed. If the structure is subjected to thermal loading, the analysis is stated as thermomechanical.   Advanced Composites Division of CSIR-NAL has the capability to do linear analysis of composite and metallic parts of civil and military aircraft. In the past two decades, ACD-NAL has carried out stress analysis of many aerospace components like Wing, Fin, Horizontal Tail and its control surfaces of aircraft. By using linear analysis technique, structure size-optimization of composite wing for civil/military aircrafts are also carried out. As per requirement of aircraft to perform in extreme temperature, organization is having experience in thermomechanical analysis of primary structures. The expertise of ACD-NAL in these areas has enabled to successfully design and develop many structural parts for aircraft and defense related applications.
