Microarc Oxidation (MAO) Facility
Micro Arc Oxidation (MAO) or Plasma Electrolytic Oxidation (PEO) is an electrochemical oxidation process generally applied to Al, Mg and Ti. Dense MAO coatings are being developed on magnesium and aluminium alloys using high voltage. The obtained oxide coatings exhibit improved mechanical and corrosion resistant properties and the coating thickness can be achieved up to 100 µm.
