Anodization
Anodization is a simple electrochemical process in which thicker oxide layers (2 to 30 µm) can be obtained on aluminium and its alloys in a suitable electrolyte bath by applying constant voltage / current. A sealing process is mandatory to improve the corrosion resistance of the aluminium alloys after anodization. A pilot plant facility has been established for the anodization of larger component (2'x 2' aluminium alloy sheets and complex shapes)
Anodization is also being used for the fabrication of Anodic Aluminium oxide (AAO) templates with different pore diameters for growing nano dots and nano wires using a lab scale set-up.
