I am in charge of improvement and upkeep of the divisional panel code. The panel code has served as a work horse for the division providing valuable inputs to several national aerospace programs. As and when there was a need, the code has been continuously upgraded. These include the ability to handle control surface deflections thereby providing critical inputs to design team for the purpose of sizing the control surfaces, coupling with a boundary layer code to get viscous effect, modification to handle unsteady flow computation. I have worked on a broad spectrum of aerospace programs which include inhouse, externally funded and CSIR programs.

 

The panel codes (both steady and unsteady) have been used extensively for inhouse programmes: HANSA, SARAS and candidates of RTA (Regional Transport configurations), LCRA (Light Canard Research Aircarft), Aerostats.

 

The quasisteady panel method was used for the analysis of windturbines, propellers.
