SHAMBHOO
SENIOR SCIENTIST

Shambhoo is currently working as a Scientist in the Propulsion Division since April 2016. He earned his Bachelor of Engineering (B.E) degree in Aeronautical Engineering from The Aeronautical Society of India-Delhi, in 2011, and his Master of Technology (M. Tech) degree in Aerospace Engineering with specialization in Propulsion from the Indian Institute of Technology-Bombay (IIT-B), Mumbai in 2014.

He has worked on Screech combustion instabilities in a gas turbine afterburner as part of a Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) - Gas Turbine Research Establishment (GTRE) sponsored project under the Gas Turbine Enabling Technology (GATET) initiative at the Combustion Instability Research Facility. Simultaneously, he has also worked on LES simulations of massively separated flows, which have direct applications to gas turbine afterburners. As part of a separate Aeronautics Research & Development Board (ARDB - DRDO) sponsored project, he has worked on the development of Hydroxyl Ammonium Nitrate (HAN) based 10 N Class Pulsed Micro-thrusters for Satellite Orbital Corrections in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore.

His areas of interest are Combustion instabilities, Vortex dynamics, Micro-combustion, Micro nozzles, LES, OpenFOAM and Data Analytics.
