T H Samiullah is a Senior Principal Scientist and Deputy Head at Center for Societal Missions and Special Technologies (CSMST), CSIR-National Aerospace Laboratories, Bengaluru. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with a distinction from Bangalore University and joined NAL in 1993. He specializes in Composite product development and has more than two decades of experience. He has lead the development and installation of the first and second generation large Composite Radomes of 13 m dia for the Doppler Weather Radar (DWR) of BEL/ISRO across the country. He has been instrumental in the successful transfer of technology of Radome manufacturing to BEL, Navi Mumbai. He has also led the development of aircraft wind tunnel models for Mk 1 LCA, Mk 2 LCA and several others. He has also utilized the Composite technologies for Societal applications such as the wind energy by leading the effort on development of large wind turbine Composite blades of 11m and 22 m span.
