Mr. Mohan Kumar did his Graduation in Mechanical Engineering and Masters in Design Engineering. His M.Tech thesis was on “Two bay Crack arrest analysis of a transport aircraft fuselage stiffened panel “ which was a study on the damage tolerance evaluation of the fuselage structural element . He started his career as a Scientist in Structural Integrity Division of CSIR-NAL and has career growth line crosses over as a Senior Scientist , Project leader of several aircraft structural testing activities at NAL.
He has handled projects of various national and international level in structural testing of both civil and military aircraft components with a budget of over 15 crores .
Presently working as Structural Testing In-charge for ground tests for the structural certification of Transport and Military aircrafts which includes full scale static and fatigue testing of aircraft structures. His particular thrust areas include Life extension of fighter aircrafts and its components, Damage tolerance evaluation of aircraft structures and Fatigue & Fracture studies on advanced composite and metallic materials.
He has to his credit "NAL Excellence award in Design, Development and Project Execution" for successfully executing the Project work titled " Full Scale Structural Testing of Active Antenna Array Unit (AAAU) Version 5" for CABS/EMBRAER (Brazil). He has 4 International journal publications and around 15 national and International conference papers. He has over 25 numbers of project documents pertaining to several testing projects executed
