KANAKA MUTHU

KANAKA MUTHU
SENIOR PRINCIPAL SCIENTIST

Kanaka Muthu’s research is concerned with applied wind turbine rotor aerodynamics, aerodynamic augmenting devices and wind solar hybrid systems for standalone energy production. His research is predominantly applied/experimental also includes CFD studies on the wind turbine rotor devices.

A key element of his research, covering more than 17 years, is the wind energy related topics like design of wind turbine Rotor/Blade, wind resources assessment, performance studies of wind turbines, and development of wind-solar hybrid system. More recently, work has been started to improve the efficiency of the wind turbine with diffusers.

Research Interest

Wind turbine rotor aerodynamic augmenting devices, rotor diffusers, DAWT, Wind-Solar hybrid systems for standalone energy needs.
