Mr. Dwarakanathan D has M.E. degree in structural engineering with 15 years of industrial/ research experience at STTD, CSIR-NAL. He has contributed towards research/ projects as leader/member in the area of FEM, structural dynamics, aeroelasticity, smart structures and non-contact structural testing. His contribution in computational works has been towards structural design and analysis of MAV/UAV, GVT based flutter analysis for aircraft, aeroelastic analysis of MAV/UAV, smart structure modelling and analysis, VTOL UAV design and development. He has specialized skills in 3D DIC based non-contact structural testing (statics/dynamics) to characterize the flexible/fabric materials and structure, light weight UAV structures, multifunctional fixed/ flapping wing and other aerospace structural components including Radome. He has professional talent and sound industrial expertise in structural analysis of aerospace structures using FE tools like MSC NASTRAN, ANSYS, and ABAQUS, ALTAIR HYPERMESH and MSC-PATRAN. His research experience has been in multiple areas such as VTOL based UAV, energy efficient structures and DIC techniques.
