RAMESH RAJAKUMAR D DR
HEAD

Dr.D.Ramesh Rajakumar has completed his PhD in thermal turbo machineries. He has designed and established the rolling element bearing lab for fatigue life evaluation of L10 bearing life and shock pulse velocity meter employed for maintaining lubricant film thickness between balls and out race. He has developed fixtures for metrological mechanical measuring instruments to avoid alignments error to bring down the uncertainty components in measurements and has done intensive studies on tip clearance effect on mixed flow compressor’s performance using CFD and experimentations. Mixed flow compressors are used in engines installed in short-range missiles, unmanned aerial vehicles, vehicles used for reconnaissance and in helicopters.  He has also carried out research on parameters influencing the torque loading capacity of shrink fitted interference assembly based on experiments and prediction using artificial neural network.

He has been working in the area of design of wind tunnel model of flights and missiles configuration & model support systems, manufacturing, metrology and CFD for internal flows from past 23 years. Currently, is in-charge for design-section of National Trisonic Aerodynamic Facility. In addition to that, he has completed recertification of pressure vessels using NDT method as per IS & international standards.
