MANISANKAR C
PRINCIPAL SCIENTIST

C. Manisankar obtained B.E (2004) in Aeronautical Engineering from Madurai Kamaraj University, M.S (By Research) in Aerospace Engineering from Anna University (2008) and currently pursuing Ph.D in IIT-Kanpur. He is a part of the High speed Group in EAD. His research work focuses on incident shock induced interaction control using vortex generating devices. These devices helps to reduce the unsteady oscillation which when matches with natural frequency of the surface of interest results in irreversible losses. The performance of these devices greatly depends on the design parameters and point of placement of these devices which needs greater understanding. Further, his interest is on optimization and applications of a variety of flow control devices in a supersonic free stream. The area of specialization includes (i) Flow Separation and Shock-Wave Boundary Layer Flows (ii) High Speed Gas Dynamics and Flows Inside Rocket Nozzles (iii) PSP, hotwire applications
