Hemant Kumar Shukla

Hemant’s research work is focused on the development of carbon fiber technology, shape memory polymers and low cost precursors for carbon fibers. A key element in his past 24 years of interdisciplinary experience is about process development for polymers, fiber science and drug research. He has been very instrumental in setting up and operationalizing the carbon fiber facility at CSIR-NAL.  He was associated with standard modulus grade carbon fibers process know how transfer to Industries. Under his leadership, centre received CEMILAC certification for standard modulus grade carbon fiber . His research on thermal and shape memory of polyurethanes was appreciated well. He is also a Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved chemist experienced in establishing cGMP, Quality control & assurance systems for ACE inhibitor drugs (Lisinopril, Enalapril Maleate and Captopril).
