Virtual reality facility is extremely useful for visualizing and debating new design ideas. Users can explore new design ideas by walking through the immersive synthetic computer-generated models. In this way, designers shall get much clearer understanding of the product. Hence, visualization with 3D interaction helps to speed up iterative design and evaluation processes. Advantage is that time and cost required to incorporate a design change shall be considerably less. 

For SARAS MK2 aircraft, VR is currently being used for the following: 

1.  Cabin and cockpit layout studies
2.  Cockpit control and display design in terms of reach, ergonomics, pilot vehicle interactions. 
3. Mounting of different line replaceable units (LRUs).
4. Figuring out where to run wires and hydraulic lines
5. Space availability for maintenance and repair personnel. 6. Overall system assembly and inspection.
