EMF (Experimental Microwave Facility)

Year of Establishment
1998
Test Applications

The experimental facility was established in 1998 at CEM, CSIR-NAL and is used to measure the permittivity and permeability of magnetic and non-magnetic materials. It is associated with three measurement method namely; 1) Dielectric probe method, ii) Waveguide method, iii) Circular cavity method. Using above measurement methods, solid as well liquid samples can be measured over the frequency range, 200 MHz-26.5 GHz.

Test Features
  • Dielectric properties measurement from 200 MHz to 26.5 GHz.

  • Permittivity and permeability measurement from 1.7 GHz to 26.5 GHz.
