Autoclaves are indispensable equipment for processing high quality composite aerospace/aircraft structural components. It is used to process a wide variety of materials, including thermoset and thermoplastic based composite aircraft parts with varying contours and complex shapes. The division has 5 working autoclave facilities to meet varying working area and process cycle requirements.
Autoclave curing is predominantly used for advanced, high-performance composite materials, especially where strength, durability, and weight savings are critical. The most commonly autoclave-cured composite materials include:
CFRPs, GFRPs, Hybrid Composites (carbon & glass), Thermoset Polymers etc.
Processing the composite parts in autoclaves has advantages like:
Ensures complete curing and significant reduction of voids.
Provides the necessary pressure and temperature for optimal fibre-matrix bonding.
Produces high-quality, high-performance composites suitable for demanding applications.
All the autoclaves are capable of running the systems in AUTO/SEMI-AUTO/MANUAL mode of operation with reliable computer control and data acquisition system.
The Automated operation can execute the user programmable cure cycles, by sequentially starting various subsystems, download set values at regular time intervals to the front-end controllers, acquire, store, and archive the data, monitor cure status and faults, generate alarms, and perform the functions of sequential shut down and reporting.
Ease of maintenance, various safety interlocks for the operator as well as for the the process, fail-safe operations and reliability are among the key drivers in all the autoclaves
All the Autoclave facility in the division have been designed, developed, commissioned and maintained in house by expert team having decades of experience in the field and dedicated for the facility.
