Applications
Polycarbosilane is a specialty organosilicon precursor raw materials for Silicon carbide materials. Significant application includes high temperature binders/adhesives, Wear coating materials. Resin matrix for the preparation of ceramic matrix composites through PIP process. Resin matrix for SiC and carbon fiber reinforced towpregs and prepregs.
Commercialization
Since it is a low volume–high cost polymeric material, CSIR-NAL can offer this technology on turnkey basis as total technology package as well as technical know-how to set-up a commercial scale plants.
Available in Market
High-pure, Matrix grade–Polycarbosilane technology is not available in the market. Detailed specifications of the product can be provided on request.
