Byji Varughese Dr

Dr. Byji Varughese received his Ph D from Indian Institute of Technology Powai, Mumbai in 1996. After a brief time of academic service in Mumbai, he joined CSIR-NAL in 1998 as Scientist. Ever since he joined NAL he has worked on design and analysis of Advanced Composites structures of SARAS and LCA aircraft. His contributions to the design, analysis and testing have resulted in the successful completion of Carbon fibre parts such as control surfaces, Wing, Rear pressure bulkhead(RPR), Horizontal Tail (HT), Vertical Tail and Belly fairing for SARAS aircraft. He is also the Chief of Design for Fin and Rudder structures for LCA aircraft. He has authored about 30 publications in various Journals and Conferences. He has received a few awards including the JEC Asia innovation award in 2013 & 2015 for development of composite HT and RPR for SARAS aircraft.
